Pirineos Basket Cup

Summary of the 2024 Pyrenees Basket Cup and a Preview of the 5th Edition

Last June 2024, the 4th edition of the Pyrenees Basket Cup international youth basketball tournament took place, featuring the participation of 90 teams and 1,000 players from around the world. Renowned international clubs such as ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne, Joventut Badalona, and Élan Sportif Chalonnais participated in the event.

For the fourth consecutive year, the tournament was held in the Pyrenees across two countries, spanning the areas of La Cerdanya and La Seu d’Urgell, as well as the French towns of Bourgmadame and Saillagouse.

The tournament also welcomed international clubs like Haukar Korfubolti (Iceland), Beat Basket Jarvenpää (Finland), and several teams from France, such as TMB Academy, Hardwork Trip, and Moissac Castelsarrasin, among others. However, the standout international participant was The Travel Team, featuring a selection of players from various countries on a single team.

This edition also included teams from across Spain, such as CB Benicarló, Escola Basket Olleria, and Maristas Murcia, along with Catalan teams that have become regular participants at the end-of-season tournament, like Safa Claror, CE Thau, Escola Pia Sarrià, and Reus Deportiu—the only club to have participated in every edition of the tournament so far.

The 5th edition of the Pirineos Basket Cup will take place next year, from June 13 to 15, 2025. This milestone is particularly special for our organization, which is already working to make it the best edition yet, with several international teams already confirmed and more announcements coming soon.
